Dr Anne O'Neill is a staff surgeon at University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital and an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto.
Dr O'Neill's clinical practice focuses on complex oncological reconstruction. She has a special interest in microvascular reconstruction of the breast, sarcoma and pelvic defects.
She graduated from the National University of Ireland, Galway with an honours degree in 1999. She completed basic and specialist surgical training at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and was awarded her fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2011. She completed a clinical fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at the University of Toronto in 2012.
Dr O'Neill completed a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School in 2006, and was awarded a PhD for her basic science research. She also hold an MSc in translational medicicine from the University of Edinburgh and a MMedSci from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Her current research interests include the development and validation of novel risk prediction models in complex reconstructive surgery and quality improvement strategies in microsurgery.
