Tara Lynn Teshima

Dr. Teshima graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine in 2008, and subsequently completed her residency training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Alberta in 2013. Prior to medical school, she completed a Masters degree in Virology. Dr. Teshima then pursued fellowship training in Adult Craniofacial Trauma, at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Teshima joined Markham Stouffville Hospital and the University of Toronto in 2015. Her clinical focus is in craniofacial trauma, skin cancer, and adult vascular malformations. She is also the LHIN lead in Central Ontario for breast reconstruction. Her research interests currently focuses on outcomes involving craniofacial trauma using advanced digital technology and the management of vascular malformations. Dr. Teshima has recently completed the Global Surgical Leadership program at Harvard Medical School and is a newly appointed faculty member for AOCMF. She has been the recipient of numerous awards for her clinical, academic, and research work, and is the author of several peer-reviewed publications.
