Dr. Matthew McRae completed his undergraduate and Medical education at Cornell and Yale Universities, followed by residency training at the University of Toronto. He further honed his skills with fellowship training at the Buncke Clinic in San Francisco.
Joining the University of Toronto faculty in January 2024, Dr. McRae previously held key roles at McMaster University since 2015, including as the clinical training unit director at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and Program director for the McMaster Division of Plastic Surgery. He has trained over 25 board-certified plastic surgeons currently practicing in Canada and has authored over 35 academic publications.
Dr. McRae's clinical practice at St. Michael's Hospital focuses on hand and microsurgery, trauma reconstruction, and general plastic surgery. He also maintains a private practice specializing in facial rejuvenation, eyelid surgery, breast procedures, and body contouring.
