Dr. Molly Jakeman is a Staff Surgeon working at the Hospital for Sick Children.
She was awarded her medical degree by the University of Manchester (U.K.). She completed her Plastic Surgery training in the Northwest of England and undertook the Paediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK) and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. She was awarded Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada in 2024.
Her clinical practice is focused on the care of children with hand and/or nerve injuries together with those born with hand differences. In addition, she provides microsurgical care to children requiring complex reconstruction. Dr Jakeman's primary academic interest is the study of children with congenital hand differences.
She is passionate about teaching and training. She has obtained Post-Graduate Certification in Medical Education and previously held a full-time teaching position in the anatomy lab at the University of Manchester. She has an interest in Quality Improvement practices. She is the Informatics Lead for the Division of Plastic Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children.
